Frequently Asked Questions

 When can I check in?

The reception is open from 3 pm to 6 pm for check in.  If you need to check in outside of these times you can do so by prior arrangement.  Please be aware that this could mean an additional charge or a remote check if the bar and restaurant are closed.  To meet your requirements and provide full details please speak to a member of the team.

I have some allergies, can you cater for those?

Depending on your type of allergy we should be able to cater for your needs.  We use anti allergenic products in the rooms and from the laundry .  Because our chef is classically trained and prepared on the day; he is able to adapt most things to 

What time is check out?

Check out is strictly between 9 am and 11 am.  Sorry but there are no late check out facilities.

Is there on site parking?

There ample private parking on site and directly near to the accommodation.

What time do you serve breakfast?

Breakfast is "waiter service" and served between 8 am and 9.30 am for last orders.  An earlier breakfast is available by prior arrangement.

What is on the breakfast menu?

We serve a range of options from the full Yorkshire to the breakfast specials.  All food is cooked to order (no buffet food sitting for hours) and is waiter served.  Special diets can be catered for (advance notification appreciated).

Can you cater for special diets?

Yes we can.  We generally have ingredients available that are gluten and dairy free.  We always appreciate being informed in advance about any dietary needs, this way it ensures we are able serve up something great.

Do I need to book the restaurant in advance?

Yes definitely,  the restaurant gets busy with local people and advance bookings are recommended.  Unfortunately we cannot guarantee  a table for resident guests whom have not booked in advance.

What time is the bar open?

The bar is open from 6 pm Wednesday  through to Saturday evenings and Sunday up to 6 pm.  Drinks are available out side of these hours on a room service basis.

Are there any cooking facilities in rooms?

Sorry  there are no cooking facilities in rooms.  This is due to being registered as serviced accommodation not self catering accommodation.

Do you accept children?

Unfortunately we do not have facilities for children under 16 years old.

Are you pet friendly?

At the moment we have 1 larger than average pet friendly room suitable for up to 2 well behaved dogs, this room can only be booked directly by calling 01751 433075.

I have booked a room for myself, can my friend join me?

Sorry but no!  If you have booked a room on a single occupancy basis  it will be set up for 1 person with linens, food, amenities and insurance for 1 person.  Any breaches on these terms and conditions are likely to incur significant additional costs.

How far are you from the North Yorkshire Moors?

Our site sits at the "gateway to the moors" at Kirkbymoorside, thus named the Gateway due to the  number of well trodden trails leading to and from the beaches
